“Dr. Austin Teel received his bachelors of science in biomedical science with the highest honors in 2016 from Texas A&M University, a year after starting veterinary school. In 2019, Dr. Teel received his doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM) with honors from Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Teel also attended a summer study abroad program in public health at the University of Padua in Padua, Italy. He is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and AAHA. Dr. Teel has special interests in small animal emergency and critical care medicine, ophthalmology, and public health. Dr. Teel was born and raised in Dallas, TX and attended Jesuit College Preparatory School in north Dallas. Dr. Teel always had a love and fascination with animals when he was a child but decided to become a veterinarian after meeting his wife and her family and spending most of his time in high school with their Australian Shepherds, Foster and Tucker. When he is not treating patients and helping animals, Dr. Teel loves to be outdoors. His hobbies include traveling, hiking, target shooting, and watching his Texas A&M Aggies beat up on the rest of the SEC. (A WHOOP!) Dr. Teel is also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team as well as the Dallas Stars hockey team. He and his wife, Alexandra, share their home with their three Shetland Sheepdogs; Meme, Bronson, and Chloe, and their black cat Jack.”
