Associate Veterinarian

Hi, my name is Dr. Julianne Nolte, and I am an Associate Veterinarian at Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital, Inc. I am passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care and building lasting relationships with my patients and their families.

Personal Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy creative and outdoor activities that keep me balanced and inspired — painting, photography, gardening, hiking, and running here in Aurora, CO. At home I share my life with Snowman, my mixed breed Lab-terrier, who keeps life active and fun.

Favorite Part of My Job

One of my favourite aspects of veterinary medicine is the balance of medical autonomy and team support. I value being able to think critically, develop individualised treatment plans, and perform procedures — while also collaborating with a skilled and supportive team. I have a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry, where I can combine precision and problem-solving to directly improve a patient's comfort and quality of life.

Why I Chose This Profession

I have always been drawn to both animals and science, and veterinary medicine felt like the natural intersection of those two passions. The field allows me to apply a strong scientific foundation to meaningful, hands-on work that benefits animals and the families who love them. It is incredibly rewarding to practice medicine while also building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Education

I earned my Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023, and my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Lehigh University in 2018.

Professional Background

I believe veterinary medicine is a lifelong learning process, and I am committed to continuing my education to provide the best care possible for my patients. Additional training I have completed includes FEMA Incident Command and emergency response coursework, an Introduction to Animal Hospice and Palliative Care through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) in 2021, and a USDA Transboundary and Emerging Diseases of Animals certification in 2021.

In addition to clinical practice, I have had the opportunity to contribute to veterinary research as a co-author of the peer-reviewed publication "Loss of Lymphatic IKKα Disrupts Lung Immune Homeostasis, Drives BALT Formation, and Protects against Influenza" published in ImmunoHorizons in July 2024. Being involved in research has strengthened my appreciation for evidence-based medicine and informs the thoughtful, science-driven care I strive to provide every day.

Memberships

I am an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Work History

I began my career as a Technician at Mattapoisett Animal Hospital in Massachusetts from June 2018 to August 2019. During veterinary school, I gained further experience as a Primary Care Assistant at Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania from October 2020 to December 2021, and as an Emergency Nurse and Student Summer Intern at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital in New Jersey from December 2020 to March 2022. Following graduation, I completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital from 2023 to 2024 before joining Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital, Inc as an Associate Veterinarian in General Practice.
