Emergency Veterinarian

Personal Hobbies and Interests

When I’m not at the hospital, you can almost always find me outdoors. I love snowboarding, hiking and backpacking, scuba diving, white water kayaking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, off-roading, and gardening—both for food and for fun. Colorado is the perfect place to fuel my sense of adventure.

I also share my life with three wonderful dogs: Zoni, my 10-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback; Moose, my 10-year-old Chocolate Lab; and Dewey, my 4-year-old Yellow Lab. They keep me active, grounded, and constantly reminded of why I chose this profession.

Favorite Part of My Job

My favorite part of emergency medicine is seeing the look of love and relief in an owner’s eyes when they get to take their pet home after a stressful day. Emergency visits are often unexpected and overwhelming, and being able to stabilize a critical patient, perform a life-saving procedure, and guide families through those moments is incredibly meaningful to me. I’m especially passionate about emergency surgeries, airway crises, wound management, acute kidney injuries, and the stabilization of critically ill patients. The fast pace, rapid decision-making, and teamwork involved in emergency care energize me every day.

Why I Chose This Profession

My passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age through early exposure to surgery. I was inspired by the profound impact surgical intervention can have—the ability to save a life is both an immense responsibility and a privilege. I understood early on that pursuing this path would require years of rigorous training and dedication, but the opportunity to make such a meaningful difference made it entirely worthwhile.

My initial interest in surgery led me to pursue a rotating internship after veterinary school, where I refined my clinical and surgical skills. During that year, I discovered my true calling in Emergency Medicine. Emergency Medicine offers the best of both worlds: the intellectual challenge of complex medical cases combined with the technical precision of surgery, all within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. It is this blend of critical thinking, hands-on intervention, and immediate impact that continues to drive my commitment to the field.
