Veterinary Technician
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I stay very involved in animal welfare. I foster neonatal kittens and volunteer with spay and neuter clinics to help reduce pet overpopulation and give vulnerable animals a better start in life.
At home, I'm kept busy by quite a few pets! I have six cats — Isis (17-year-old white long-haired female), Stewart (6-year-old orange tabby with asthma), Goblin (3-year-old tripod orange tabby), Bruce (2-year-old gray long-haired male with cerebellar hypoplasia), Weeble (9-month-old orange tabby with cerebellar hypoplasia), and Dulce (9-month-old calico). I also have two reptiles: Gus the bearded dragon and Hank the box turtle.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is working with cats. I’ve spent many years caring for feline patients, and I truly enjoy helping them feel safe and comfortable during their veterinary visits. Cats often need a little extra patience and understanding, and it’s incredibly rewarding to help them receive the care they need while reducing stress for both them and their owners.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose veterinary medicine because I’ve always loved animals and wanted to dedicate my career to helping them. Over time, I discovered a special connection with cats and found that I really enjoy working with their unique personalities and needs. Becoming a veterinary technician allowed me to combine my passion for animal care with hands-on medical work that improves their health and well-being.
