The Pharmacy Technician's primary responsibility is to manage prescriptions and prescription refills. Their secondary responsibility is to assist the doctors, technicians and CSRs.

Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a full-time pharmacy technician to join our team. We are a privately owned, 24-hour general, emergency and specialty practice that cares for companion animals & small mammals. At Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital we use a team approach while assisting our clients and patients. The Pharmacy Technician's primary responsibility is to manage prescriptions and prescription refills. Their secondary responsibility is to assist the doctors, technicians and CSRs. We have a busy but friendly atmosphere. We have monthly team department meetings (with food) and monthly wellness activities. Our team has created a culture of camaraderie and mutual respect, and there is a dose of fun thrown in too. Specific pharmacy experience isn't required, just attention to detail, a sense of humor and a genuine desire to help people and their furry family!

Primary responsibility shall be the management of new prescriptions and prescription refills. The pharmacy technician shall also assist with the outpatient and laboratory tasks when necessary. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Pharmacy

  • Accurately fill and refill prescriptions 
  • Client communication 
  • Update and note medical records
  • Inventory and cycle counts
  • Assist the purchasing manager with inventory

Outpatient

  • Available to assist doctors and technicians as needed with patient restraint
  • Assist reception with answering phones, checking clients in and out, and setting appointments, as needed

Laboratory

Assist the technicians and doctors with the on-site lab procedures

Education & Experience Preferred: (any of the following)

  1. CVA
  2. AA or AS
  3. CVT, LVT, RVT
  4. CPhT

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of the following physical movements on a continual basis: standing, walking, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Vision requirements: Close and normal vision, color vision, depth perception


Work Skills Required:

  • Able to read and interpret documents, such as medical records or procedure manuals
  • Able to speak effectively to co-workers, clients, vendors and other professionals
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Familiarity with dogs, cats helpful
  • Self-motivated
  • Works well in a team environment

$15.11 - $19.00 starting hourly wage
