While we hope that your pet is never affected by this devastating disease, we firmly believe in being prepared. Seven Hills Animal Hospital is proud to be able to offer the services of Dr. Phyllis Glawe, a board-certified veterinary oncologist, to help pets mount the fight against cancer.

A Glance at Dr. Glawe

Dr. Glawe is one of only approximately 200 veterinary oncologists in the United States. This means that beyond her veterinary degree she has completed rigorous training and passed certification tests that show her proficiency in the area of cancer care. She is one of only a few veterinary oncologists in the area equipped to help your pet mount a fight against cancer.

Keeping hope alive

Together, the doctors at Seven Hills and Dr. Glawe are able to help diagnose and treat a wide variety of cancer types in your pets. If treated appropriately, about half of cancers identified in pets can be cured. Available treatments mirror what is available for humans, with new developments and technologies appearing every day. Affected pets may be treated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or often a combination of these. More and more veterinarians are successfully treating animals diagnosed with cancer.

Upping the odds

While a cancer diagnosis is not a welcome one, Seven Hills Animal Hospital wants to remind you that early detection is perhaps our most powerful treatment tool. Be sure to bring your pets in for their recommended wellness examinations and never hesitate to let us know about any lumps or bumps, wounds that don’t heal, or other abnormalities in your pet. Our team wants to be sure we give every pet a fighting chance against this very serious problem.
